To unlock the house, you will be provided with a 4 digit code to open the door downstairs below the deck. You can use this code to unlock the door during your stay. You can then unlock the sliding door on the upper floor off of the deck. Please lock the home when you depart by first locking the sliding door from the inside and then going out the door downstairs, pulling it shut, and pressing the lock button on the keypad.

The property is equipped with Wi-Fi from Frontier Internet. Speed test speeds typically hit around 50 mbps download and 40 mbps upload. There is an ethernet port in the living room behind the small couch to get a wired connection. The wifi works well for streaming and video calls, but it is not always as reliable or consistent as Wi-Fi you would find in a city.

Trash can be put inside the brown wooden shed located at the entrance of the driveway. The town will pick up trash from there once per week. However, recycling must be taken to the Indian Lake Transfer Station (located at Chain Lakes Rd, Indian Lake, NY, 12842). The Indian Lake Transfer Station is open Thursday – Monday from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM. You might be asked for a copy of the landlord’s Solid Waste Permit in order to be allowed to dispose of your trash and recycling. Please take a photo of the permit (found in the white binder in the house) in case you are asked to present it at the transfer station.

There is an outdoor fire pit you can use down near the lake. You are welcome to collect and burn any dead limb or branches that you find on the ground, but please do not cut down any branches off of trees or burn cut firewood that the owner has purchased and that may be stacked on the property. A number of homeowners sell firewood along the State Routes leading to Blue Mountain Lake and local stores sell firewood as well.

The heat is turned off in the summer and will automatically be set to 67 degrees during the rest of the year. There is no air conditioning but there are fans for you to use.

There is a Weber grill that you may barbeque with. Please do not use it on the deck, but rather have it on the ground at least 20' from either home. Please supply your own charcoal and paper to start a fire.

During the peak summer months of July and August, the home is only rented on a week by week basis. Currently, the rental period runs Friday to Friday as my house cleaners are only available to clean on Fridays (and it is really hard finding good cleaners in Blue Mtn). Rental periods of no shorter than 5 days will be considered during other months of the year. You are welcome to check in at 4pm on your check in day, but not before this as the house is being prepared for your stay.

10am. We would really appreciate it if you could please start laundering the sheets and/or towels the morning before you depart so that we can be ready to welcome the next guest.

The home will be professionally cleaned upon your departure at a cost of $200 which the owner will pay for. If the cleaning cost exceeds $200, you will be responsible to pay the additional cost .

No pets and no animals of any kind are allowed in the house or on the property at any time. If the renter allows pets or animals onto the property, the renter automatically agrees to forfeit their full damage deposit, agrees to vacate the property that same day, and also agrees to forfeit their full rental payment for the remainder of their week. 

There is NO smoking allowed in the house or on the property at any time. If the renter smokes in the home, the renter automatically agrees to forfeit their full damage deposit, agrees to vacate the property that same day, and also agrees to forfeit their full rental payment for the remainder of their week.

People typically reserve this home a year in advance. You may cancel without any fee 6 months or more from your rental start date. You may cancel up to 3 months from your rental start date, but there is a fee equal to one night’s rent. If you cancel within 3 months of your rental start date, there is no refund.

A deposit of 50% is required to secure the home for the rental period you desire. The remaining 50% is required 3 months ahead of when you arrive. If you are reserving the home within 3 months of when you will arrive, payment in full is required to reserve the home.

There is one security camera in the living room area which is used to secure the property when no one is using the home. It is also used by the owner to see whether the power goes off in the winter so as to ensure that pipes do not freeze. If you wish, you can cover the camera during your stay, but please be sure to uncover it when you depart.
